An event can give a Baltic trip a clear purpose, but its date and city must be checked before booking transport. This calendar was checked on 2 October 2026. It separates a completed Riga festival from forthcoming Vilnius and Tallinn programmes, and does not project unannounced dates into 2027.

Each link above belongs to the organiser or producing institution. Dates describe the published edition, not a guarantee that a particular performance has seats. Individual concerts, screenings and opening times need their own programme check.
Riga: an opera-focused visit
The Riga Opera Festival's June 2026 dates are now past. Its programme remains useful as a dated record of what that edition offered. It is not a booking calendar for a future summer. Wait for the institution's next published festival programme before attaching a non-refundable trip to an assumed repeat date.
An opera visit needs more than a city arrival. Choose the production, language support where offered, running time and seat before deciding which evenings are free for other activities. The Riga visitor guide connects the opera with meals, city transport and a practical route. Give the performance its own evening rather than squeezing it after a late intercity connection.
Vilnius: jazz dates and individual events
The Vilnius Jazz organiser gives 14 to 18 October 2026. Some city listings show the main public performance span beginning on 15 October. Use the organiser's programme for the particular concert you want instead of treating these different summaries as interchangeable tickets. The edition's overall date range does not mean every venue has a concert on every day.
Check the named venue, doors, start time and ticket terms. Experimental and improvised music programmes can include several kinds of performance; read the artist description before booking. The Vilnius visitor guide helps combine an evening concert with food and arrival. Avoid relying on the last possible airport or train connection to reach a timed performance.
Tallinn: films in November
PÖFF's published 2026 dates are 6 to 22 November. The festival's official site supplies film information and the booking programme as released. A festival period is broader than an individual screening. Confirm the cinema, date, language, subtitles and whether the event is a public screening or a different festival activity.
Several screenings in a day need travel and meal intervals. Do not assume two venues are adjacent because both are described as Tallinn. If a film is the reason for the trip, book the screening before finalising the day around it. Leave room for a programme change and read the organiser's ticket conditions.
Tallinn: the Christmas Market edition
The market organiser lists the 2026 to 2027 edition from 20 November to 6 January at Town Hall Square. Its published daily opening is 10:00 to 20:00. Check the organiser again close to the trip for programme details and any special arrangements. A date range spanning New Year is one edition, not evidence for an unannounced market in the following winter.
An outdoor market visit needs weather-appropriate clothing and a plan for indoor breaks. Daylight and pavement conditions affect how much walking is comfortable. The seasonal trip guide helps choose whether a winter event suits your wider route. Keep a market walk separate from a timed theatre or film booking so neither is rushed.
Three-country calendars beyond these editions
For other events, begin with Visit Estonia, Latvia Travel and Lithuania Travel. Their listings can identify an event and city; the named organiser remains the source for the actual programme. Song celebrations, sports, local food events and small cultural festivals do not all recur on one yearly schedule.
Confirm the year, especially when a search result leads to a completed programme. Check whether a date is an event day, an application deadline or a ticket-sale date. If the next edition has not been announced, leave the date undecided rather than turning last year's pattern into a promise.
Book transport and nights around the event
Use the Baltic itinerary choices to decide whether the event anchors a single-country stay or a longer route. Compare accommodation areas against the venue and your return journey. The cheapest-looking location can require a late transfer that does not fit the programme. Keep the arrival evening flexible when travelling between countries.
Read cancellation and postponement terms separately for the event, room and transport. One provider's refund does not automatically cover the others. Save the venue address and a current return route before the evening begins. A Baltic guidebook can supply daytime context while the organiser supplies the event facts.
